Basics of Eyelash Life Cycle:

Eyelashes have a very short growth phase of only about 30 to 45 days and typically have a life span of only three to four months before dropping out. At that point, new lash cycle recommences. Directions for Use

For best results, please follow directions closely:

Apply only once a day at bedtime.
Cleanse eye area removing all makeup and moisturizers. Pat dry.
Apply LashesMD with applicator brush in a thin line at the base of both your upper and lower lashes as though applying eyeliner.
The amount on the brush is enough for BOTH eyes. No need to re-dip.
Allow a few minutes to dry.
Continue with your bedtime regimen.
Use sparingly. Very little product is needed for best results and over use could cause irritation.
Please make sure to apply LashesMD to the root line of your lashes. Application directly to your lashes will not promote desired results.

Ingredients and About Safety

SymPeptides™ consist of a novel linear oligopeptide series for increased biological activity and bio-availability. SymPeptide 226EL is a pentapeptide (5 amino acids in a chain). This peptide is assembled to create and stimulate keratin genes. Keratins are proteins that form the fundamental building block of eyelashes and eyebrows. When topically applied over time, LashesMD, noticeably enhances eyelashes and eyebrows making them fuller, longer, thicker and stronger.

Glycerin — Glycerol is an organic compound, also commonly called glycerin or glycerine. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous serum that is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations. Glycerol has three hydrophilic hydroxyl groups that are responsible for its solubility in water and its hygroscopic nature. The glycerol substructure is a central component of many lipids. Glycerol is sweet-tasting and of low toxicity. Glycerol is used in medical and pharmaceutical and personal care preparations, mainly as a means of improving smoothness, providing lubrication and as a humectant. It draws moisture up through skin layers and slows or prevents excessive drying and evaporation.

Panthenol — Panthenol is the alcohol analog of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). Panthenol is a humectant, emollient and moisturizer. It binds to the hair shaft readily. It coats the hair and seals its surface, lubricating the hair shaft and making strands appear shiny and thicker.

Allantoin — Allantoin is present in botanical extracts of the comfrey plant. Allantoin provides a moisturizing and keratolytic effect, increasing the water content of the extracellular matrix and enhancing the desquamation of upper layers of dead skin cells, increasing the smoothness of the skin; promotion of cell proliferation and wound healing; and a soothing, anti-irritant, and skin protectant effect by forming complexes with irritant and sensitizing agents.

Alfalfa Extract — Alfalfa is a cool season perennial legume living from three to twelve years, depending on variety and climate. Alfalfa has been used as an herbal medicine for over 1,500 years. Alfalfa is high in protein, calcium, plus other minerals, vitamin A, vitamins in the B group, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitaminxK.

Arnica Extract — Arnica is a genus with about 30 perennial, herbaceous species, belonging to the sunflower family. Arnica montana has been used medicinally for centuries. The roots contain derivatives of thymol, which are used as fungicides and preservatives and may have some anti-inflammatory effect. The thymol derivatives concentrated in the plants roots have been clinically shown to be effective vasodilators of subcutaneous blood capillaries. Arnica preparations used topically have been demonstrated to act as an anti-inflammatory and assist normal healing processes by facilitating transport of blood and fluid accumulations through a dilating action of subcutaneous blood capillaries.

Propylene Glycol — Propylene glycol, known also by the systematic name propane-1,2-diol, is an organic compound (adiol alcohol), with a faintly sweet taste, and is a colorless, nearly odorless, clear, viscous serum that is hygroscopic and miscible with water, acetone, and chloroform. It has numerous uses including as a moisturizer in medicines and cosmetics.

Sodium Hyaluronate — Sodium hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronan. It is a visco-elastic polymer normally found in the aqueous and vitreous humour. Sodium Hyaluronate functions as a tissue lubricant and is thought to play an important role in modulating the interactions between adjacent tissues.

Sodium Hyluronate — Sodium hyluronate is a polysaccharide which is distributed widely in the extracellular matr ix of connective tissue. Elasticity of the solution assists in absorbing mechanical stress and providing a protective buffer for tissues.

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil — Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) is a shrub native to the Sonoran and Mojave deserts of Arizona, California, and Mexico. Jojoba is grown for the serum wax (commonly called jojoba oil) in its seeds.This oil is rare in that it is an extremely long (C36-C46) straight-chain wax ester and not a triglyceride. Jojoba oil is easily refined to be odorless, colorless and oxidatively stable and is used as a moisturizer.

Nettle Extract — Stinging nettle or common nettle, Urtica dioica, is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant, native to Europe, Asia, northern Africa, and North America. Nettle is used to enhance the luster of eyelashes.

About Safety

If LashesMD gets into your eye

Because LashesMD is used around the eyes, we have taken care to formulate our product with ingredients that have excellent safety profiles. In addition, our tests have shown that, when used as directed, LashesMD does not get into the eyes and, therefore, should not have a physiological effect on your eyes.

If a small quantity of LashesMD accidentally gets into your eye, it will usually be washed away by your tear film; however, if you are concerned or experience any irritation, we recommend that you lightly splash a little tap water in the eye in order to dilute and rinse away the LashesMD.

As a helpful reminder, we recommend that you be careful not to over-saturate the LashesMD application brush. Remember that you only need to apply a small quantity of LashesMD (the amount on the brush is sufficient for both upper and lower lids on both eyes) at bedtime.

Possible Allergic Reaction

First, please be sure you are using LashesMD as directed on the package. Remember, only a small quantity of LashesMD is needed per application. LashesMD has been shown to be safe to the skin in tests conducted by an independent research laboratory. However, as with any topical product, some individuals may be allergic to one or more components of the product. If you know that you are allergic to any of the ingredients in LashesMD, or if you suspect that you may be allergic to any of the ingredients, do not use LashesMD. If you suspect that you may have had or are having an allergic reaction, stop using the product and consult a physician immediately.

If you experience such irritation, either reduce or discontinue the use of LashesMD until the irritation goes away. If the irritation persists, discontinue use completely and consult your physician.

Use of LashesMD by People with Cataracts

However, as a precaution, if you have cataracts or are concerned about developing cataracts, we advise you to consult with your physician or ophthalmologist.

Use after Cataract Surgery

When used as directed, LashesMD does not get into the eyes and, therefore, should not have any physiological effect on your eyes. Even if a small amount of LashesMD did get into your eye, all of the ingredients in LashesMD have an excellent safety profile. However, as a precaution, if you have had cataract surgery, we advise you to consult with your ophthalmologist prior to using LashesMD.

Dry Eye and Lasik Surgery

When used as directed, LashesMD does not get into the eyes and, therefore, should not have any physiological effect on your eyes. Even if a small amount of LashesMD did get into your eye, all of the ingredients in LashesMD have an excellent safety profile. However, if you have had LASIK surgery or if you use artificial tear drops for dry eyes, as a precaution, we advise you to consult with your ophthalmologist prior to using LashesMD.

Use by People with Glaucoma

When used as directed, LashesMD does not get into the eyes and, therefore, should not have a physiological effect on your eyes or interfere with the effect of your glaucoma medication. Even if a small amount of LashesMD did get into your eye, all of the ingredients in LashesMD have an excellent safety profile. However, if you have glaucoma or if you use glaucoma medication, as a precaution, we advise you to consult with your ophthalmologist prior to using LashesMD.

Changes in Eye Pressure

When used as directed, LashesMD does not get into the eyes and, therefore, should not have a physiological effect on your eyes, including the intraocular pressure (IOP). All of the ingredients in LashesMD have an excellent safety profile and there is nothing in the ingredients that should cause an increase in IOP. However, as a precaution, if you have concerns, we advise you to consult with your physician or ophthalmologist.

Discoloration around the Eye

We have not received any reports of darkening of the skin at the base of the eyelashes. If you notice such discoloration and it bothers you, please discontinue use of LashesMD.

Discoloration of the Eye (Iris)

When used as directed, LashesMD does not get into the eyes and, therefore, should not have any physiological effect on your eyes, including the color of your eyes i.e. the iris. However, as a precaution, if you have concerns, we advise you to consult with your physician or ophthalmologist.

Breast Feeding and Pregnancy

LashesMD has been shown in to be safe to the skin and to eyes in adult study subjects. All of the ingredients in LashesMD have an excellent safety profile and there is nothing in the ingredients that should cause an increase in IOP. However, none of the study subjects were pregnant or breast feeding. Therefore, while we have no scientific reason to believe that LashesMD poses a safety risk to women who are pregnant or breast feeding, as a precaution, we advise that you not use LashesMD if you are pregnant or breast-feeding without first consulting your physician.

Chemotherapy

LashesMD has been shown in these tests to be safe to the skin and to eyes in adult study subjects. However, none of the study subjects were undergoing chemotherapy. While we have no scientific reason to believe that LashesMD poses a safety risk to individuals who are undergoing chemotherapy, it is advisable for any person undergoing chemotherapy to consult their physician before using any new product. Therefore, as a precaution, we recommend that you consult with your physician before using LashesMD if you are undergoing chemotherapy.

Eyelashes Falling out

LashesMD is not a treatment for a greater than normal degree of lash fall out. A typical lash has a duration of only three to four months. If you have a medical condition, please consult your physician and/or dermatologist.
